Each rival is a shogi AI with a real playing style — an attacker, a defender, a Ranging Rook fan, a castle builder — so every opponent teaches you something different. Start with Hana and work your way to Gen.
Every rival has a default level on the Rival Road, and you can set any of them from level 1 to 10. Hana can be played free in your browser; the other seven are in the app.
